2017-2018 NEW Cooperative Scholarship Recipients

NEW Cooperative, Inc. a farmer-owned grain, agronomy, energy and feed cooperative headquartered in Fort Dodge, Iowa is pleased to announce that seven students have been selected to receive a NEW Cooperative scholarship. The $2,000 scholarship is to aid the students in pursuing their college education in an agriculture program. The NEW Cooperative Foundation awards the scholarships to students who demonstrate outstanding leadership, scholastics and a strong desire to pursue a career in agriculture. This year's scholarship winners are Katelyn Decker, daughter of Tom and Diane Decker from Rockwell City, Lilian Swanson, daughter of Stuart and Lori Swanson from Galt, Jackson Thompson son of Mark & Nancy Thompson from Badger, Tielyr Clabaugh daughter of Jeremy and Tina Larson from Badger, Samantha Sturgeon, daughter of Eric and Traci Sturgeon from Dows, Rebekah Schram, daughter of Jeremy and Paula Schram from Anthon and Keaton Hammen son of Tony and Amy Hammen from Rockwell City. For more than 20 years, the NEW Cooperative scholarship program has been supporting the college education of area students. In that time, more than $200,000 has been awarded. Each year, students planning to enroll as a full time student in an agricultural college program at a Midwest college, and who are dependents of NEW Cooperative members or employees are eligible to apply to receive a scholarship. This includes graduating high school seniors, as well as college freshmen thru juniors. NEW Cooperative General Manager Dan Dix states "These students are the future of our agriculture industry. We are proud to support them in their college journey and can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the future.”
