Recently, area youth, ages 12 and under, submitted their best photos to NEW Cooperative. Each photo was judged based on their relevance to NEW Cooperative services and mission, showmanship of agriculture, creative title of photo, and overall quality of the photo. The team of judges had a tough time selecting one photo to place first. After looking at each photo, they chose "Checking Fields" by Daniel Illg, age 6, as the 1st place photo. This winning photo is pictured on the right. Parents of Daniel are Brian & Molly Illg of Clare, Iowa.
Other place winners and mentions are as follows. Second place: Cortney Harris, age 9, Blairsburg; Third place: Holden Jud, age 9, Knierim; Honorable Mention: Katelyn Decker, age 11, Rockwell City; Honorable Mention: Raquel Holt, age 12, Ellsworth; Honorable Mention: Rylan Harris, age 11, Blairsburg. For those interested in taking part in the NEW Coop Kid's Photo Contest, pictures taken between 9-19-2009 and 9-24-2010 can be submitted in next year's contest! Two photos can be submitted per participant and should be emailed to aholt@newcoop.com by September 24, 2010. The judging criteria will be the same. Each photo is judged based on their relevance to NEW Cooperative services and mission, showmanship of agriculture, creative title of photo, and overall quality of the photo.
