At NEW Cooperative, feed safety is built into every step—from farm to table. Our well-managed mills have long operated in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) as defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
We’ve also taken a proactive approach to the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) by adopting Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards.
Originally developed when NASA partnered with Pillsbury to create safe food for early space missions, HACCP is now a globally recognized, science-based system for identifying and controlling food safety risks throughout production, processing, packaging, and distribution. While HACCP programs are mandatory in the meat industry and regulated by USDA, adoption in the feed industry is voluntary.
NEW Cooperative chose to implement HACCP early—reinforcing our commitment to producing safe, high-quality feed and protecting the integrity of the food supply chain.
